Ingredients
- Goosebumps Sambar masala - 1 heaped teaspoon
- Mustard seeds (rai) – 1/3 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder (haldi – 1/4th teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 5 to 6 nos
- Full dried red chili (lal mirch) - 1 no
- Tomato – 1 large (finely chopped)
- Drumstick – ½ no (diced)
- Pumpkin (kaddu) – 50 gm (diced)
- French beans – 2 nos (diced)
- Baby onions – 10 (peeled)
- Potato – 1 medium sized (diced)
- Bottle gourd (lauki) – 50 gm (Diced)
- Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon
- Toor dal – ½ cup (120 gm)
- Tamarind puree (Imli) – ½ teaspoon
- Asafetida (hing) – Pinch
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Soak Toor dal in water for 1 hour, drain water and pressure cook with 2 cups water until done. keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, hing, whole red chili and curry leaves, Mix well, add in the tomatoes ,salt, 1 heaped teaspoon of Goosebumps Sambhar masala and turmeric powder and saute until oil separates.
- Add in the tamarind paste and vegetables one by one and mix well
- Add in the toor dal mixture and adjust consistency with water. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until the vegetables are nice and tender.
- You can add in a tempering of red chili, curry leaves and mustard seeds if needed for added flavour.
- Check seasoning and serve hot.
